Dates

Starts: Monday, April 9th

Ends: Friday, May 4th.

So how this is going to go down

I will release the pattern in 12 parts on Instagram, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the first weeks of the knit-a-long. The last week is an extra week so every has time to finish.

The Design

The design is asymmetrical triangular shawl with increases on the other edge, check my Instagram for more photos.

The shawl if worked sideways, adding 1 sts every right side row by doing a yo. It consists of 9 different stitch patterns; Stockinette, Honey Comb and reverse Honey Comb, Linen Stitch and Half Linen Stitch, Lace, Slipped Cables and Mosaic Cables.

Needle size

  • 4 mm / US 6 (or to obtain gauge) long needles or circular needle

Yarn used

  • MC: 100 g of Unbelieva-Wool: Superwash Merino DK

    DK weight

    Yarn content: 100% Superwash Merino

    225.0 meters (246.1 yards) / 100 g

  • CC: 100 g of

    Novita Nalle

    DK weight,

Yarn content: 75% wool, 25% nylon

    260.0 meters (284.3 yards) / 100 g

Notions

  • 1 stitch marker

  • 2 cable needles

Gauge

  • 25 sts and 35 rows = 10 cm (4 inch) in

  • Stockinette, worked flat

Final measurements

  • 160 cm (64 inces) in width

  • 70 cm (28 inches) in height

Notes

  • Always slip the first st on the WS row p wise.

  • Using the yarn weight and gauge suggested you end up with a shawl that is as big as stated in “Final measurements”. However, a different yarn weight can be used but that will result in a bigger or smaller shawl depending on whether your yarn is thicker or thinner.

  • Obtain the gauge will result in the right size, but might effect the yardage needed.

  • The pattern is written so that if you run out of your main color too early, due to shifts in gauge or other unexpected things, you are able to knit a couple of repeats less than in the original pattern. To compensate for the length, just knit a couple more stockinette rows before the “Part 9: Lace Cable”.

  • The pattern has charts and written instructions. The charts are there just to help you visualize what your doing and to aid you.
